Master programme in Earth Atmosphere and the Solar System

The program is focused on the research areas of the Earth atmosphere and the Solar System. The course is given in Kiruna, located north of the arctic circle. Kiruna is known for its research infrastructure with the various institutions and service providers within atmospheric and space research.

Research on the Earth atmosphere and the solar system is an exciting and relevant topic. During the program's first year, you will gain knowledge of the physical processes in the Earth's atmosphere and the Solar System and methods to observe these. During the second year you will deepen your knowledge through courses and by participating in various space projects. Your master thesis work will be performed at a space technology company, space organization, or an academic department in Kiruna or another part of the world. The lectures are given in English.

Labour market

Graduates are well equipped to work within areas such as space research, atmospheric research, environmental monitoring and space technology and engineering. This may be at universities, research institutes and organization, or at governmental bodies - including the major European space players and the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC).
