Management of Fish and Wildlife Populations
Want to contribute to the sustainable management of the world's fish and wildlife resources? The program prepares you for a career in both government and non-governmental organizations.
What did the fish and wildlife of importance to the community? How can we handle fish and game populations in a sustainable way? By combining both theory and practical methods, this program gives students a good knowledge of the ecology, management and conservation of fish and wildlife, as well as knowledge of the laws and conventions both in Sweden and abroad. The program includes both mandatory courses, a thesis and elective courses.
What you read on the program
The program covers different aspects of how best to manage and conserve fish and wildlife. The program targets both Swedish and international students. It is offered by the Department of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies, where approximately 60 researchers and PhD students actively conduct research in fish and wildlife management, human impact and conservation of biodiversity.
Some of our graduates have gone on to graduate programs. Our international and very active research offers many possibilities, all the way up to creating a career in fish and wildlife research.
Other students have gone on to active roles in today's fish and wildlife management, found careers in local, regional and national authorities responsible for the management of natural resources, non-governmental organizations working on conservation issues at the national or international level, groups of hunters or fishermen , landowner associations, private companies active in natural resource management (eg forestry and hydropower companies) and nature tourism enterprises.
At the completion and validation studies will pay you a Master's degree in Environmental Science.
