Agricultural Food and Environmental Policy Analysis
In this program, students learn to analyze and develop guidelines with a focus on food, agricultural and environmental sectors.
The goal of the master's program Agricultural Food and Environmental Policy Analysis (AFEPA) is to provide a quality education working with and analyzing policies at national and international level with a focus on rural areas and the agricultural and food sector.
AFEPA want to give students a deeper understanding of the complex socioala, economic and ecological effects of this policy, either in a functioning market in the EU or in economies that are in a development phase or övergångfas. What you read on the program
The Master's program is a two year training with advanced courses in economics as well as in agricultural and trade policies, environmental and natural resource policy and rural development policy. As a thesis at the end of the two-year curriculum, students carry out a project to unite their knowledge of theory and methodology. During the program you study at two of the partner universities and thus have a double degree.
AFEPA jointly organized by four leading European educational and research institutions: Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Milan, Italy, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Sweden, the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn (UBonn) in Germany, and the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. The collaboration also includes: Pontifica Universidad Catolica (PUC) in Chile, the University of Alberta (UAlberta) in Canada and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Spain.
These seven partner universities are known worldwide for the quality of their programs and their scientific achievements in areas such as agricultural and environmental issues.
Graduates from AFEPA are qualified to design and evaluate public policies focused on agriculture and food sector and rural areas and natural resources. They have the opportunity to provide relevant policy recommendations for a more sustainable development and to take responsibility on the international, national and regional authorities, NGOs, consultancies, industry associations and private companies.
